The LG X120 is a great looking netbook, one that doesn't seem to involve hours and hours of design work, but the execution worked out in its favor. The LG X120 first netbook attempt in the United States, and it has embedded 3G provided you commit to a 2-year, $60/month contract. Even the interior the keyboard and palm rest area received the same color treatment. Furthermore, the combination of the shiny (lid) and matted (interior) plastics give it a clean, pristine look. 

With hardware, there is really little that will prompt any ooh or ahhs. The 10-inch widescreen and its 1,024-by-600 resolution are average at best. Apparently, white is the only color available for the time being, and the $50 promotion is for a limited time only. Effa Plutus

Após fazer fama nos segmentos de base, as marcas chinesas tentam continuar a boa impressão ao aventurar-se nas faixas de maior lucro. O problema é que estes clientes não se conquistam apenas com preço baixo: são necessários outros atrativos voltados ao lado emocional. É o caso do fato de o modelo pertencer a uma marca de prestígio, e este tipo de valor passa longe de ser oferecido por uma marca recém-chegada ao país. Ou seja, é mais fácil esperar que a Plutus seja vista como um mero veículo de trabalho.

Analisar essa picape logo faz perceber que ela é uma completa desarmonia de conceitos estilísticos, e nem é necessário ter o mais atento dos olhares. Seu desenho em geral remete às gerações antigas de Toyota Hilux ou Mitsubishi L200, em que estas eram projetos concebidos no começo dos anos 90 mas já exibiam a silhueta retilínea e um aspecto mais rústico, percebido em detalhes como as portas pequenas com janelas quadradas e sem união visual. Ou seja, passa longe das atuais tendências de maior preocupação com a aerodinâmica em um visual com toques mais urbanos e modernos, sem perder a imponência.

Além disso, por mais que exageros como as enormes maçanetas chamem a atenção, nada parece destoar mais do que a frente. Repare bem: aquele filete cinza dividindo grade e faróis não parece formar uma frente familiar demais? Pois experimente ver uma foto da Chevrolet Colorado americana da primeira geração, que vigorou até 2010, e você entenderá de onde veio a “inspiração” da Plutus. Imitações à parte, também não se pode negar que mesmo sendo um veículo mais caro, a Plutus insiste no clichê do foco chinês, o de oferecer preço baixo e muito equipamento, ainda que abrindo mão de praticamente todos os outros aspectos.

Ou seja, se um dia alguém perguntar a um vendedor da marca sobre o desenho do modelo ou sua tecnologia, ele provavelmente vai responder “ela custa só R$ 62.900”. Vendida em versão única e apenas com cabine dupla, a picape traz um pacote fechado de equipamentos, que inclui ar-condicionado digital, direção hidráulica, trio elétrico, farois de neblina, bancos de couro sintético e rodas de liga leve aro 15”. Seu motor é um 3.2 turbodiesel que gera potência e torque de 103 cv e 25 kgfm, respectivamente. Ela conta com garantia de dois anos, mas… E quanto a freios ABS ou airbags? “Ela custa só R$ 62.900”.

The Sony Vaio VPC-EC3M1E/BJ design comes from the same family, namely the recently reviewed Vaio VPC-EB3Z1E/BQ. It's successful in this regard with the exception of its weak display which makes family film night a disappointment. This one might be a 15.6" laptop, but we can't overlook the visual and technical similarity to our in-review model. 

The most important visual difference is that the palm rest of our 17.3" in-review model shines with a highly glossy finish. The Sony Vaio VPC-EC3M1E/BJ (starting at 945 Euro in various stores) is a well-rounded 17.3" notebook that attempts to cover the entertainment and work requirements of the entire family.

In terms of performance, occasional gamers and video editors will be satisfied with the Intel Core i5 460M (2 x 2.53 GHz) and the ATI HD 5650 (450 MHz).  Serious gamers will, however, have to shed a tear for the downsampled GPU, which sometimes causes a substantially poorer refresh rate with high graphics settings on (depending on the game).
